The Health Center in Mysore was established during the year 1966. It is located in Manasagangothri in Mysore city. Dr. K. Nagappa Alva, the Minister of Health Department established this health center in Mysore. Dr. Shanta Prabhushankar was appointed as the first medical officer in this Health Center. At present, Dr. Tulasi Manjunath is the Senior Medical Officer in the health center of Mysore.

The Health Center is open from morning 9am till evening 6pm. It is even opened during the Government holidays and they work half a day during the holiday times. People who are having any type of disease can get treated from this place. The ailments treated here are General Ailments, Cardiac Diseases, Respiratory Diseases, ENT Cases, Emergency and Injuries, Diabetic Mellitus, Orthopedic Cases, Gynec Problems and Thyroid Ailments.

The health center has also got a big laboratory. The center also treats Abcess open, corn excision, ear wash, OT suturing are the other specializations in this Health Center. The center has also got the IV Infusion facilities, ECG facilities and the Nebulization facilities. The medicines that are available in the pharmacy is priced low so that everyone can afford to buy them.

The Health Center in Mysore organizes many camps that take all around the year. Bone density test camp, asthma and allergy awareness camp, obesity awareness camp and breath free awareness camp are some of the camps organized by the Health Center.

The Wipro Infotech Ltd have joined hands with the Rural Literacy and Health Programme, also known as RLHP to start a healthcare project. This is the voluntary, a non-governmental organization that has been helping the government to execute health facilities in Mysore for many years. The main objective of this health care project is as follows:
